Malware infections: Riskware

Riskware is the name that is assigned to legitimate programs that can cause harm if they are used by malicious users to delete, block, modify or copy data.

As well as to alter the performance of computers or networks. This type of software is not malicious, but its installation implies a security breach in our equipment, whether they are remote administration programs, or applications that open ports.

Riskware includes the following types of programs that are commonly used for legitimate purposes:

A- Remote administration utilities

B- IRC Customers

C- Marker programs

D- File downloaders

E- Software to monitor computer activity

F- Password management utilities

G- Internet server services, such as FTP, Web, proxy and telnet

These programs have not been designed for malicious purposes, but they do have functions that can be used for improper purposes.
