Common failures in computer networks: NetBIOS

NetBIOS is a Windows protocol that allows computers in a network to "communicate".

However, it often does not work properly causing slowness in our network or generating errors when accessing the shared files and sometimes the service cut.
One possible solution is to identify teams with conflicts and rename them. To analyze the names of the network you must use some specific tool for this.
Strange behaviors in network resources can be caused when computers have the same name, remember Chapter 2? This error is similar. Disabling the WINS / NetBT name resolution service could solve this problem.
